Friends of School
As the result of a considerable amount of hard work, the Friends of Pantycelyn continued to go from strength to strength during 2006 and I am sure continue in 2007.
Update and News Letter July 2006
Once again, many thanks are due to all the pupils, parents and friends who have supported our fund raising events this year. Our association exists for the benefit of all pupils and we try to support the school by raising money for much-needed resources.
New members are always welcome!
Meetings are open to all and a warm welcome is extended to any new parents!
FRIENDS EVENTS HELD THIS SCHOOL YEAR.
Winter Ball and Grand Raffle – November 2005 – raised £650
Carol Service - December 2005 followed by mince pies and coffee in the Castle Hotel.
Annual Quiz Evening – February 2006
Cabaret - April 2006 –performed by Pantycelyn pupils - raised £434
Sponsored Walk – June 2006 –organised by the teachers and supported by the ‘Friends.’
New school calendars are now available for the next school year September 2006-2007 at £3.50 each. These calendars detail dates for each school term and include photos of pupils in different school activities. Please order from the Main Office.
The Friends hope to organise a concert featuring items from three local Young Farmer’s Groups.
Details to be arranged.
November/ December 2006 - Network Q Rally.
We will need willing volunteers to help attend a car park in a shift system during the day and night for this year’s Network Q Rally.
This always raises a considerable amount of money for the school.

Would you be interested in taking up the post of joint secretary or 200 Club secretary? Our current members are hoping to step down next year and we are looking for willing replacements! Please contact either secretary if you may be interested.

Upcoming events organised by the Freinds of the school:
AGM on Thursday 9th November 2006 at 7:30 pm in Pantycelyn school hall, followed by the governors' meeting.
Young Farmers Concert on Friday 10/11/06 at 7:30 pm in Pantycelyn school hall.
1st and 2nd December Wales GB Rally- freinds to help stewarding of car park and collecting rubbish afterwards on 3rd.
21st December School Carol Service in St Dingats Church followed by coffee and mince pies at the Castle Hotel.
Quiz night 1st February 2007.
Urdd Eisteddfod would be held at Pantycelyn on 2nd, 3rd and 5th March next year. Friends to provide food for those taking part.
