You are probably aware from older brothers and sisters in the school that French and PE was done in ability groups. But this year at Pantycelyn it has changed

French is divided into three groups.

French is now divided into sets;

• Group 1 = G + P streams
• Group 2 = G + P streams 
• Group 3 = Y streams

What do Gary Lineker, Huw Edwards, John Cleese, Eddie Izzard, Paula Radcliffe, Lance Armstrong and Jay Jay Okacha all have in common?

They all speak at least one other language besides their first language.

Why study another language?

In a recent report, the following statements were made by Sixth Formers:

"A language opens doors to a range of jobs."

"Languages make it easier to travel and you'll enjoy your holidays more."

"A lot of jobs look at having foreign languages as a bonus."

"Language learning improves other skills, for example listening well."

"Languages enable you to travel to other countries and feel part of the culture, respect the people living there by making an effort to communicate and not feel like a tourist."
