AS/A Level Drama
This is a demanding, but rewarding, course which developes pupils' understanding of important issues, interpretation, independent and team working. Pupils who take this course, develop most of the skills required by employers - confidence, presentation, problem showing.
The course comprises six units:

Unit 1
Performance Workshop
Performing an extract from Lady Windermere's Fan, and a devised piece. Process Journal of 1500 words.
Unit 2
Written paper
Directorial analysis. Ideas for presenting an extract from a play.
Unit 3
Written paper
Text Analysis
Analysing aspects of staging and character in two plays from different theatrical traditions and times.
A2
Unit 4 Performance Analysis
A 3000 word report on the process of selecting, writing and performing three pieces of theatre in unit 5
Unit 5
Practical Performances based on a set Theme
Unit 6 Terminal examination
Terminal examination on Hamlet amd The Crucible: This is a synoptic paper, drawing on everything learned in the last 2 years.
