Year Seven
In Year seven pupils are asked to Design and Make a sewing kit to carry essential equipment to and from their textile lessons. Over the course of the unit they explore and experiment with a range of techniques, including fabric painting, embroidery and using the sewing machine. By the end of the unit they should be able to sew in a straight line, join fabrics together, turn corners and neaten edges when using the sewing machine.
All pupils are provided with a Knowledge and Understanding booklet which they are required to bring to every lesson. All design and making tasks are included in the booklet as is homework.
